Even a small four-place airplane has dozens of instruments on the panel. Many of those talk to each other, and to GPS and autopilot systems. …and each has it’s own proprietary interface. Isn’t it time for a behind-the-panel network, and a few standard protocols for avionics to talk over the network? Do Boeing and Airbus still do this too?
